DSL Research Group Project
Being a good researcher involves more than coming up with brilliant ideas and putting them into action. For example, it is not easy to keep track of its current and past research, and stay motivated. In fact, this hardship is not only limited to people but also affected by the resources and supports.
It is difficult but not always stressful work. It is fun and enjoyable too. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate it.
According to the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the research should include the interest of the project to academic domain, and its importance or necessity to study research. Although there is general consensus among the researchers that doing research is important, some disagreement exists about how to improve research.
While most researchers continue to rely on their research independent, research findings can be more matured after we learned to cope with constructive criticism. In order to get good feedback, we have to present our idea whether we are working on a full conference paper or journal article. Giving a talk in the seminar series at University or at conferences can maximizes a chance of getting useful comments. It also gives us an opportunity to improve our communication skills. Giving feedback is also a good starting point to polish our critical thinking techniques and skills, both in understanding other researchers’ work and improving ours. In addition, it helps us to build a good network of people for research in the long term.
